Biografía

Dr María Montlleó is an attending physician at the Reconstructive and General Urology Unit.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1986) and specialised in Urology through MIR residency at Fundació Puigvert between 1988 and 1992.

With more than 25 years of experience, her main healthcare activity is focused on the medical and surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, the treatment of urethral stricture in adults and reconstructive urology surgery. She is also a member of the Haemostasis and Coagulation Committee as well as of the Infection Committee of Fundació Puigvert.

Moreover, she is the author of more than 50 publications in national and international journals and book chapters and has received several awards. She is a clinical associate at the Surgery Department of the Urology Area at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a professor on the master's degree in Clinical Andrology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

She is the author of more than 50 publications in national and international journals.
Participation in 5 clinical research protocols on benign prostatic hyperplasia and 1 on urinary tract infections.
She has taken part in many national and international congresses and courses.
Clinical Associate of the Department of Surgery, Urology Area, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Professor on the master's degree in Clinical Andrology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

Distinciones

2004. Pérez Castro Award for the article: Laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy for kidney transplantation – the first two years of experience. Archivos Españoles de Urología.
2007. Joaquín Albarran Award for the best audiovisual presentation at the 72nd National Urology Congress. Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in transplanted kidney.
