Biografía
Dr Lluís Gausa is the Medical and Healthcare Director and Attending Physician of the Urology Department.
He holds a degree in Medicine and General Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and is a specialist in urology.
As a Medical and Healthcare Director, he is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of patient care, while guaranteeing proper compliance with the code of ethics by professionals, as well as coordinating and heading teaching and research activities.
He is also an investigator and co-investigator in several clinical protocols. He has lectured at symposiums, congresses and national and international meetings. He has written articles in journals and has co-authored books in the specialty.
He is also a lecturer in the undergraduate programmes of the Faculty of Medicine at the UAB and has been in charge of the training plans of medical resident interns (MIR) and several clinical committees of the Foundation (Ethics, Research, Infectious Diseases, Teaching and Training).
His areas of interest are pyeloureteral junction syndrome, prostatitis and prostate, bladder and testicular cancer.
He is a full member of the American Confederation of Urology, the Spanish Society of Urology, the Catalan Society of Urology and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
