Dr Esteban Emiliani is an Attending Physician at the Lithiasis Unit.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogota, Colombia), completed his urology residency at Fundació Puigvert, which is attached to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), and obtained the FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology) title. This title recognises the excellence in knowledge and practice of urologists on a European level.
Subsequently, Dr Emiliani completed his subspecialty studies in endourology and medical/surgical treatment of kidney stones at two of the world's most renowned institutions. First, at the Tenon Hospital, which is attached to the Sorbonne University in Paris, under the tutelage of Professor Olivier Traxer. He then went to the MPUH Hospital in Nadiad, India, where he was under the tutelage of Professor Mahesh Desai. Back in Barcelona, Dr Emiliani obtained his PhD – International PhD (Cum Laude) –, awarded by the University of Barcelona and the Sorbonne University, with a study on the development of laser technologies for the treatment of kidney stones.
As a prolific academic author, Dr Emiliani has published more than 95 articles in indexed urological journals, 12 publications in non-indexed journals and has written 4 international book chapters. He is a member of the editorial board of the World Journal of Urology, Actas Urológicas Españolas, Turkish Journal of Urology and BMC Urology.
Moreover, Dr Emiliani is a member of the most renowned international institutions shaping the future of urology worldwide.

Author of 4 book chapters on urology.
Associate editor and reviewer of several national and international urological journals, such as the World Journal of Urology, Actas Urológicas Españolas, Turkish Journal of Urology and BMC Urology.
Regular guest surgeon at national and international congresses, conferences and courses, where he has presented more than 80 research projects and 30 surgical videos.
