The Urology Department treats all urological pathologies and dysfunctions. Personalised treatment appropriate to the individual patient is delivered in the fields of oncology, reconstructive surgery, paediatric urology, lithiasis, functional disorders, and female urology.

The Urology Department is also engaged in delivering innovation in a range of surgical techniques: endoscopy, laparoscopy, robotics, shock wave therapy, cryotherapy, brachytherapy and percutaneous approaches.

We have always favoured the use of minimally invasive surgery. This started with urologic endoscopy in the 1970s, followed by shock wave extracorporeal lithotripsy in the 1980s, laparoscopy in the 1990s and, most recently, robotic surgery – in 2005 Fundación Puigvert became the first Spanish centre to acquire the Da Vinci robot.

• Treatment of tumour pathologies
  Endoscopic, open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery of superficial and infiltrating tumours of the kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate, testis and penis. Prostate and kidney tumour surgery in combination with chemotherapy, brachytherapy and/or cryotherapy.
